I’m a grad student in the sciences. I live on the coast, and I generally find it enjoyable but miss the seasons. Even though my daily life is steeped in scientific minutiae (or maybe because of it) this blog will mostly focus on non-scientific things. Or at least on non-minutiae things.

Ideally this blog will help me improve my writing and give me a way to get feedback on various thoughts as I think more about them. Realistically, who knows what it will become. But I am hoping it will at least be more than someplace that I link to a bunch of things I’ve read that day with my own comments on them. The world does not need more bloggers like that.

The subtitle of my blog is explained here.
