Germany Blows

A politician in Germany might have to pay a fine for calling a German author an “ass”. In German, of course. I was wondering why he got fined, but the article ended with this.

The act of using expletives to curse at others is a prosecutable crime in Germany that can result in steep fines. Just flipping a person off while driving can lead to a fine of between €600 and €4,000.

I am suddenly far less interested in the idea of spending a few months or a year or two living in Germany.
