I vs. E, and just screw C

Apparently, if this post by Robin Hanson is accurate, being shy at least has one advantage. Shy people (and I’m deathly shy in new situations) have an easier time establishing intimacy. If a shy person talks to you or reveals something, it’s easy to understand that they trust you. But it’s hard for someone who’s not shy to establish that same level of intimacy; it’s difficult to find actions with similar signaling value.
