What I Can Control

Sometimes, it feels like when I want to change directions in life, the thing I have the easiest control over is what community I’m in. Changing the people around you and the values they hold gives a lot of pressure to make changes in your life and outlook.

Unfortunately, that’s a pretty blunt instrument for coercing self-change. No telling what unexpected changes could come along with the expected ones.

Regardless, changing communities is one of the few ways of making change I know of that doesn’t require sustained, active effort.
