I don’t know what the solution to any shortage of doctors is but I hope it doesn’t involve more pre-med students. Whiny bunch of grade-obsessed learning-inhibited snobs burdened with an overwhelming sense of self-importance. And unlike the pre-law students they don’t have the decency to stay away from science courses.
(For the record, the linked article is mostly about the current shortage of primary care physicians. And how it would get even worse if everyone were insured, so they could actually see primary care physicians instead of just going to the emergency room or going untreated.)
