This series of graphs, and where they came from, is very interesting. Some experimenters got people to play a game of “quantitative telephone”, and all of the graphs produced looked essentially alike. Regardless of what the initial graph looked like. Click on the link to see the pictures.

I’m sure this sort of phenomena should have broader implications, but I don’t want to go philosophizing at the drop of a hat.
