The Partnership

I’ve spent awhile over the past month trying to read The Partnership: The Making of Goldman Sachs. I’ll pick it up every few days and read another 50 pages or so. I’m giving up. It’s really just a history of Goldman Sachs. It doesn’t use Goldman Sachs as a way to explore broader history or explain finance. It’s just a bunch of stories of major figures in the history of Goldman Sachs. And it’s boring. It goes between hagiographical depictions of head honchos to practical jokes to how the Old Boy’s Network led to various jobs.

Time to ditch it and move on to Nixonland.
